Retrieval is one of the stages in case-based reasoning system which find a solution to new problem or case by measuring the similarity between the new case and old cases in the case base. Some of the similarity measurement techniques are involving feature... see more

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) belongs to the Hepacivirus genus, Flaviviridae family, has six major genotypes and more than 70 subtypes. HCV has a major impact on public health, because it infects around 3% worldwide population, with an estimated globa... see more

Kowalska Marta Estera, Kalinowski Pawel, Bojakowska Urszula. Okolicznosci rozpoznania zakazenia HCV wsród osób z przewleklym wirusowym zapaleniem watroby typu C = The circumstances of diagnosis of HCV infection among people with chronic hepatitis C. Journ... see more

Background & Objective: Liver and intestines are anatomically and physiologically linked. Zonulin is a protein modulating intercellular tight junctions and regulating intestinal permeability. Copeptin was studied as a marker of systemic circulation disord... see more

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has remained a global health problem. Around 2 billion people worldwide are infected, and more than 257 million are categorized as chronic patients with a risk of developing progressive liver diseases, such as cirrhosis, ... see more

The main goal of this research is to determine the optimum method for diagnosing and identifying hepatitis while also taking future patient expectations into consideration. This study involved the completion of a comparative report between several machine... see more

Graves' disease is caused by IgG antibodies that bind to the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) receptor on the surfaceof the thyroid gland. These bonds drive the growth of stimulated thyroid follicular cells causing the glands to enlarge andincrease the p... see more

Background Hepatitis A is the most common cause of acute viral hepatitis, with a typical simple, self-limiting course. But it is not free from complications. Atypical presentations, such as in the form of prolonged cholestasis, ascites, pleural effusion, ... see more

Palabras clave: hepatitis viral humana, fibrosis, aprendizaje.ABSTRACT Despite being hepatitis caused by C virus (HCV) a worldwide health problem and the most frequent cause of chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and hepatocelular carcinoma, a practical score system to perform the histopathologic diagnosis does not exist. Objective: To increase the competence of pathologists in the diagnosis of HCV at "Abel Santamaria Cuadrado" University Hospital from January 2002 to July 2008. Design: A technological innovation was created writing a book with electronically- processed diagrams and the study of HCV-biopsies by means of a descriptive and cross-sectional design. Subjects and Method: Universe: 236 biopsies with the diagnosis of HCV. Sample: 117 biopsies having the diagnosis of Chronic- HCV (the total during the period). Age, sex, type of histological lesion; diagnostic correspondence, the degree of the lesion and stage of the fibrosis in respect of the age were considered. Descriptive Statistics was used to sum up the categorical and continuing quantitative variables and the verification of frequencies through calculation and/or association of variables X2, OR. Results: A system of representative histological draws for the classification of chronic viral hepatitis (Ishak, 1995) was created. Chronic-HCV was more frequent between ages 35-54, female sex, and moderate necro-inflammatory activityreached up to 60.6% between 35 and 44 years old. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the system of draws makes possible a better standardization of the diagnosis in teams and provides a more suitable learning of the disease.Key words: human viral hepatitis, fibrosis, learning.
