El seminario en la disciplina bases biológicas de la Medicina / The seminar in the Discipline Biological Bases of Medicine El seminario en la disciplina bases biológicas de la Medicina / The seminar in the Discipline Biological Bases of MedicineLas transformaciones curriculares en el Plan de estudios de la carrera de Medicina deben acompañarse de innovaciones en la clase, donde se pondere al seminario por sus potencialidades formativas. Con el objetivo de analizar al seminario, como tipo de clase de las asignaturas que forman parte de la disciplina Bases Biológicas de la Medicina, se hizo una revisión documental que incluye los programas analíticos de dicha Disciplina y las correspondientes asignaturas; además de una encuesta a 27 docentes de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina que las imparten. Los seminarios ocupan del 12 y el 28% del total de las horas clase en las asignaturas de la referida Disciplina. Para el 37,1% de los docentes, el objetivo fundamental del seminario es la evaluación del aprendizaje, mientras el 40,1% considera que el mismo debe incluir todos los contenidos temáticos. Se discrepa de estos criterios y se argumenta que la función didáctica fundamental del seminario es la sistematización y la profundización de los contenidos -que incluyen las operaciones lógicas del pensamiento más complejas- sin desconocer la función evaluativa con un carácter formativo. En el continuo perfeccionamiento de la Disciplina Bases Biológicas de la Medicina debe enfatizarse en las formas de orientación, ejecución y control del seminario, dirigidas al logro de un espacio académico para la sistematización, la profundización y la aplicación de los conocimientos, además de obtener información de carácter retroalimentador sobre el proceso docente educativo.
