La formación académica en salud reflejada en los egresados de la ELAM y su vínculo con la teoría Educación Avanzada / The academic education in health reflected in the graduates of the ELAM and its link with the Advanced Education theory La formación académica en salud reflejada en los egresados de la ELAM y su vínculo con la teoría Educación Avanzada / The academic education in health reflected in the graduates of the ELAM and its link with the Advanced Education theoryObjetivo: argumentar sobre la formación académica en salud reflejada en los egresados de la ELAM y su vínculo con la teoría Educación Avanzada.Método: se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, se utilizaron los métodos: histórico-lógico, el análisisdocumental, la sistematización y el sistémico estructural funcional.Resultados: la formación de recursos humanos se basa en la vinculación de la teoría con la práctica, que se concretaen la combinación del estudio y el trabajo, la unidad de lo concreto y lo abstracto, así como la vinculación de lo individual con lo colectivo. Esta investigación se fundamenta en el sistema de categorías, leyes y principios de la teoría de la Educación Avanzada. Se puede constatar la preparación académica y disposición de los egresados ELAM para intervenir en situaciones de desastres, repercutiendo en el impacto social que genera en toda una comunidad.Conclusiones: la formación de recursos humanos es una contribución de Cuba a un mundo de paz y para la sostenibilidad de los sistemas de salud en los diferentes países con sentido de cooperación e integración de los pueblos y sus gobiernos. Palabras clave: formación; salud, ELAM; teoría Educación Avanzada.ABSTRACTObjective: to argue about the academic education in health reflected in the graduates of the ELAM and its link with the Advanced Education theory.Method: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, the methods were used: historical-logical, documentary analysis, systematization and functional structural systemic.Results: the training of human resources is based on the linking of theory with practice, which is concreted in the combination of study and work, the unity of the concrete and the abstract, as well as the linking of the individual with the collective. This research is based on the system of categories, laws and principles of the theory of Advanced Education. The academic preparation and willingness of ELAM graduates to intervene in disaster situations can be verified, impacting on the social impact that it generates in a whole community.Conclusions: the training of human resources is a contribution of Cuba to a world of peace and for the sustainability of health systems in different countries with a sense of cooperation and integration of peoples and their governments.Keywords: training; health, ELAM; Advanced Education theory.

Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, 18 años formando médicos para el mundo/ Latin American Medicine School, 18 years training physicians for the world Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, 18 años formando médicos para el mundo/ Latin American Medicine School, 18 years training physicians for the worldObjetivo: exponer los resultados de trabajo de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina durante más de 18 años dedicados a la formación de recursos humanos en salud para el mundo.Materiales y Métodos: se realiza una valoración de los resultados alcanzados en la ELAM, basados en la experiencia de los autores, con el apoyo de entrevistas a trabajadores y el análisis documental.Resultados: la ELAM cuenta con más de 28 500 graduados de 105 países, quienes se desempeñan con eficiencia en cualquier parte del mundo, haciendo realidad el sueño del máximo líder de la Revolución cubana. El reto de los participantes en su formación, ha sido lograr en ellos, un alto nivel científico técnico con profundos valores éticos y de solidarios.Conclusiones: en la ELAM los procesos de formación, investigación y extensión realizados desde sus inicios, han sido los pilares que proyectan su visión de futuro, trazándose estrategias que involucran a todos sus gestores y actores, con propósitos tan nobles a favor de la salud del ser humano como centro de atención. La universidad constituye una expresión palpable de internacionalismo, humanidad y solidaridad entre los pueblos y comunidades excluidas, es unsímbolo de lo que puede lograr una nación capaz de compartir sus pocos recursos, en aras de lograr un mundo mejor.Sus egresados son su testimonio.ABSTRACTObjective: to show the Latin American Medicine School work results during more than 18 years dedicated to training human resources on health for the world.Materials and Methods: an evaluation of reached results is analyzed in ELAM, based on authors´ experience withthe support of workers´ interviews and the documental analysis.Results: the ELAM scores with more than 28.500 graduated from 105 countries, who are performing with efficiency in any part of the world, becoming a reality the dream of the maxim leader of the Cuban Revolution. The challenge of the participants in their training has been to get in them a high technical scientific level with deep ethical and solidaritiesvalours.Conclusions: the formation, investigation and extension process in ELAM developed from its beginning have been the bases that project its vision of future, making strategies that enrolled all managers and actors with purposes so noble to favor of human health as a point of attention. The university constitutes a palpable expression of internationalism, humanism and solidarity among peoples and excluded communities, it is a symbol of one nation that is able to share its few resources with the objective to get a rather world. Its issues are its testimony.

Fuga de cerebros: el mercado de talentos y sus secuelas / Brain drain: the market of talents and its after-effectsFuga de cerebros: el mercado de talentos y sus secuelas / Brain drain: the market of talents and its after-effectsEl objetivo de este trabajo ha sido revisar los antecedentes, situaciones y consecuencias del flujo de cerebros hacia los países más desarrollados. Su repercusión mundial, y en Cuba. Se realiza una revisión del tema mediante análisis documental. La fuga de cerebros es un fenómeno global, y no nuevo, pero que ha cambiado su matiz, para pasar a formar parte de la expropiación de las personas por las grandes transnacionales y países del primer mundo, con repercusiones negativas en sus países de origen. Se analiza el caso de Cuba, y cómo se ha logrado actuar en contra de esta nefasta actuación, y las posibilidades de la solidaridad, y la cooperación Sur-Sur en la formación de capital humano, así como la exportación de capital humano con repercusión positiva en la economía cubana. Palabras clave: economía, ciencia, recursos humanos en salud. ABSTRACT This research paper was aimed at making a brief review about the antecedents, situations and consequences of the brain drain to the most developed countries. Its world repercussion and those in Cuba were also reviewed. The paper was conducted by means of a documentary analysis. Brain drain is not new, it is a global phenomenon in current times, but its nature has changed, and it is part of the expropriation of people by the huge transnational companies and First World Countries, which have a negative impact on the origin countries of the emigrated. Cuban case was analyzed and the actions taken to counteract this inauspicious performance were shown. The possibilities of solidarity; South-South cooperation in the formation of highly skilled human resources, so as the positive repercussion of the exportation of these human resources on the Cuban economy were also discussed.
