Violencia familiar: óptica desde la niñez. Familial violence, from the perspective of childhoodViolencia familiar: óptica desde la niñez. Familial violence, from the perspective of childhoodCon el objetivo de conocer la magnitud de la violencia intrafamiliar, desde la óptica de la niñez, así como su relación con el alcoholismo y su repercusión en el rendimiento académico del escolar, se realizó un trabajo investigativo, transversal y descriptivo, comparando los resultados entre el grupo de alumnos en el que se reporta violencia intrafamiliar con el que no, mediante la aplicación de una encuesta diseñada al efecto, a los 100 alumnos del 6to grado del Semi - internado de primaria "Manuel Ascunce Domenech" en la Ciudad de Pinar del Río, en el primer cuatrimestre del año 2000. Los resultados se reflejan en las tablas expresadas en valores absolutos y en porcientos, analizando cuando fue prudente la significación estadística para un valor de alfa =0.05; concluyéndose que la encuesta diseñada fue útil para que los niños evidencien la existencia de la violencia en sus hogares; alcanzando una magnitud del 69 %, predominando la de tipo emocional en la mitad de los encuestados y cuando en el seno familiar se ingiere alcohol desmedidamente, se incrementa la presencia de la violencia. El rendimiento académico del escolar se ve influenciado negativamente por la presencia de violencia familiar.DeCS: ALCOHOLISMO. VIOLENCIA. VIOLENCIA DOMICILIARIA. ABSTRACT A cross sectional and descriptive study was aimed at knowing the magnitude of domestic violence related to childhood as well as its relation to alcohol abuse and the repercussion on the academic growth of the child. A survey was made to compare the groups reporting violence and the group non - reporting violence to 100 sixth grade students belonging to "Manuel Ascunce Domenech Elementary School" in Pinar del Río during the four month period of year 2000. Results are expressed in absolute values and percentages analyzing properly the statistical significance giving a value of alpha = 0,05. It was concluded that the survey was useful to clear up the presence of domestic violence, reaching a magnitude (69 %) predominating emotional violence in half of inquired children. Domestic violence increases when alcohol abuse increases. Academic growth is negatively influenced by domestic violence. DeCS: ALCOHOLISM, VIOLENCE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
