Two families A\mathcal{A} and B\mathcal{B} of sets are said to be cross-intersecting if each set in A\mathcal{A} intersects each set in B\mathcal{B}. For any two integers nn and kk with 1=k=n1 \leq k \leq n, let {[n] \choose \leq k}{[n] \choose \leq k} de... see more

Intersecting and cross-intersecting families usually appear in extremal combinatorics in the vein of the Erdos-Ko-Rado theorem. On the other hand, P. Erdos and L. Lovász in their noted 1975 paper posed problems on coloring intersecting families ... see more

In 1975, Lovász conjectured that any maximal intersecting family of kk-sets has at most ?(e-1)k!?\lfloor(e-1)k!\rfloor blocks, where ee is the base of the natural logarithm. This conjecture was disproved in 1996 by Frankl and his co-authors. In this short... see more

Parent engagement programs are in high demand these days, particularly as they pertain to immigrant and refugee families. But working with families entails purposeful communication with families (Valdés, 1996). Yet, often families are caught in cross-cult... see more

This study is interested in the features of family relationship in mono and interethnic families as the factor defining the quality and the contents of real expectations and claims of spouses in spheres of family life. The relationships in the family depe... see more

In this study we investigated how the process of initial language choice and minority language transmission to the child was carried out within Russian mother/Norwegian father families living in Norway. The study was based on grounded theory, and semi-str... see more

Let n>k>1n > k > 1 be integers, [n]={1,…,n}[n] = \{1, \ldots, n\}. Let F\mathcal F be a family of kk-subsets of [n][n]. The family F\mathcal F is called intersecting if FnF'?ØF \cap F' \neq \varnothing for all F,F'?FF, F' \in \mathcal F. It is calle... see more

Methods: a descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study was carried out in a clinic of the Teaching Polyclinic “Antonio Maceo”, in the Cerro municipality, from September to December 2017, to a population of 101 individuals grouped into thirty families, with the aim of identifying the main risk factors and damage to the health of the members of the families under study. Results: it was observed that most of the families are small and nuclear, in stages of formation and extension. The population is relatively young, with an apparently adequate standard of living, although there is a significant number of people who consume alcohol and tobacco. On the other hand, air pollution and the presence of insects were identified as environmental factors to be taken into account in the health analyzes of the population under study. Conclusions: the main risk factors identified in the community studied were those related to lifestyles, socioeconomic and environmental, represented by the consumption of tobacco and alcohol, regular socioeconomic level, air pollution and the presence of mosquitoes. Most individuals are located in the dispensary group II, given the presence of at least one risk factor in almost all individuals. Keywords: risk factors; family, health prevention; health promotion
