Apuntes históricos sobre la acupuntura y sus técnicas afines Apuntes históricos sobre la acupuntura y sus técnicas afinesIntroducción: el uso de la acupuntura y sus técnicas afines se encuentra extendido en el mundo moderno, por lo que resulta importante volver a sus orígenes.Objetivo: identificar algunos elementos relacionados con la historia y la extensión a occidente de esta terapia, así como los antecedentes relacionados con el interés médico-legal relativo a la seguridad de su práctica.Desarrollo: el primer registro histórico relativo a la acupuntura se identifica en el Shi Ji, texto que data del año 90 a.C. En los textos hallados en las tumbas de Mawangdui, los que se remontan a principios del siglo II a.C, se hace referencia a técnicas como la moxibustión.Conclusiones: existen registros que evidencian el proceso de su extensión a occidente a partir del siglo XIII, según los escritos de William de Rubruk y Marco Polo. De manera particular, se identifican antecedentes de las implicaciones médico-legales asociadas a la práctica de estas técnicas desde tiempos del antiguo imperio chino.
