Adecuaciones al proceso docente educativo en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, en respuesta ante emergencia de la Covid-19 Adecuaciones al proceso docente educativo en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, en respuesta ante emergencia de la Covid-19Objetivo: Socializar las experiencias acumuladas en el enfrentamiento a la COVID-19 con relación a las adecuaciones realizadas al proceso docente educativo que se desarrolla en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina.Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó una investigación documental, en el periodo de marzo a junio de 2019, cuyo objeto de estudio fue el diseño de adecuaciones al proceso docente educativo que se desempeñó en la institución educativa para así dar respuesta a la emergencia de la Covid-19Resultados: Los resultados que se muestran son parciales y están relacionados con las adecuaciones realizadas al proceso docente educativo de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (Elam) en los actuales momentos de enfrentamiento a la COVID-19, siempre con la intención de priorizar el cumplimiento del currículum base de la carrera de medicina (Plan E) y potenciando las características con que cuenta la institución.Conclusiones: La disposición de condiciones estructurales, de preparación del claustro, medios de enseñanza y materiales audiovisuales contribuyeron a implementar con mayor intensidad la modalidad a distancia, el trabajo extraclase (como forma de evaluación final) y la clase encuentro, en aras de mantener la calidad del proceso docente educativo. Las experiencias acumuladas, en la batalla contra la COVID-19, demostraron que en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina es posible formar Médicos Generales Básicos, orientados hacia la atención primaria de salud, con una elevada preparación científica, humanista, ética y solidaria; capaces de actuar en su entorno de acuerdo con las necesidades de la región para el desarrollo sostenible.Objective: To socialize the experiences accumulated in the confrontation with COVID-19 in relation to the adjustments made to the educational teaching process that takes place in the Latin American School of Medicine.Materials and Methods: A documentary research was carried out, in the period from March to June 2019, whose object of study was the design of adaptations to the educational teaching process carried out in the educational institution in order to respond to the Covid emergency -19Results: The results shown are partial and are related to the adjustments made to the educational teaching process of the Latin American School of Medicine (Elam) in the current moments of confrontation with COVID-19, always with the intention of prioritizing compliance with the basic curriculum of the medical career (Plan E) and enhancing the characteristics of the institution.Conclusions: The provision of structural conditions, preparation of the cloister, teaching aids and audiovisual materials contributed to implement with greater intensity the distance modality, extra-class work (as a form of final evaluation) and the meeting class, in order to maintain the quality of the educational teaching process. The accumulated experiences, in the battle against COVID-19, demonstrated that in the Latin American School of Medicine it is possible to train Basic General Physicians, oriented towards primary health care, with a high scientific, humanistic, ethical and supportive preparation; capable of acting in their environment in accordance with the needs of the region for sustainable development.
