Es un proceder, que haresultado ser eficaz en diferentes patologías en las que se hanobtenido resultados muy alentadores. Posee especial importanciaen las enfermedades de tipo infecciosas y estados de afeccionesinmunológicas. Ante la situación a nivel mundial por la pandemiade COVID-19, que al día de hoy cobra una magnitud alarmantecomo problema de salud en el mundo, se decide realizar estacomunicación, basado en el conocimiento de que la ozonoterapia,según la fisiopatología del daño que provoca este proceso, puedeser útil como terapia complementaria. Con este trabajo se pretendeidentificar los mecanismos de acción del ozono y la justificaciónde su uso en la infección por el nuevo coronavirus SARS-CoV-2basado en las evidencias científicas, por lo que se concluye conla elaboración de un protocolo de tratamiento bien diferenciadosegún la clasificación del estadio clínico y gravedad del paciente,así como su correspondencia con las vías de administración.Palabras clave: Ozonoterapia; COVID-19; autohemoterapia;inmunomodulación.ABSTRACTOzone therapy is considered a complementary therapy that usesozone as a therapeutic agent. It is a procedure that has provento be effective in different pathologies in which very encouragingresults have been obtained. It has special importance in infectiousdiseases and immunological conditions. Faced with the worldwidesituation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which today takes onan alarming magnitude as a health problem in the world, it wasdecided to make this communication, based on the knowledge thatozone therapy, according to the pathophysiology of the damagecaused by this process can be useful as a complementary therapy.This work aims to identify the mechanisms of action of ozone andthe justification for its use in infection by the new coronavirus SARSCoV-2 based on scientific evidence, which is why it is concludedwith the development of a treatment protocol well differentiatedaccording to the classification of the clinical stage and severityof the patient, as well as its correspondence with the routes ofadministration.Keywords: Ozone therapy, COVID-19; autohemotherapy;immunomodulation.
