An Investigation of the Impact of Concurrent Group Dynamic Assessment on EFL Learners’ Achievement of Phrasal Verbs at Productive Level

SUMMARY

The present study aimed at investigating the impact of the concurrent group dynamic assessment on the learning of phrasal verbs at a productive level. The participants of the study were 30 EFL learners at an intermediate level of language proficiency. The participants’ productive knowledge of the phrasal verbs was measured before and after the treatment through a researcher-made test including 80 items. For the purpose of the study, paired and independent samples t-test were utilized. Results of statistical analyses indicated that concurrent group dynamic assessment was significantly effective in the achievement of phrasal verbs at a productive level. Moreover, it was found that no significant difference existed in the concurrent group dynamic assessment in terms of the achievement of phrasal verbs at a productive level.

El curso optativo fue de gran acogida y trascendió los niveles de aceptación,al transformar los modos de actuación profesional y desarrollar en los estudiantes, las habilidades previstas en el modelo de profesional de la carrera Pedagogía Psicología.Conclusiones: el colectivo de profesores de la asignatura está identificado con la necesidad del cambio y brinda su aporte, diseñando técnicas para el aprendizaje de estos estudiantes desde cada una de las propuestas realizadas, que revelan lo novedoso del tema que combina la creatividad de los docentes y las potencialidades de los estudiantes.ABSTRACTObjective: reveal the results that produce the optative course application Learn to Learn in Pedagogy Psychology career, due to impact evaluation.Materials and methods: a cross descriptive investigation was carried out of optative course impact Learn to Learn, for the first academic course of Pedagogy Psychology career.Results: the theory practice association of the course contents allowed the interchange of experiences and the need to update to learn. The optative course was great welcome transcended the level of reception transforming the way of professional performance and development in the students, the predicted abilities in the model of professional in Pedagogy Psychology career.Conclusions: the professor’s collective of the subject is identified with the necessity of change and contribute, designing technics for learning of these students, since one of the proposals made, that reveal the innovation on the topic that combine the creativity of academicians and the potentialities of the students. Impacto de la Histoteca en los resultados docentes de la asignatura Célula, tejidos y sistema tegumentario. 2016-2018/Impact of the Histoteca in the academical results of subject Cell, tissues and tegumentary system Impacto de la Histoteca en los resultados docentes de la asignatura Célula, tejidos y sistema tegumentario. 2016-2018/Impact of the Histoteca in the academical results of subject Cell, tissues and tegumentary systemObjetivo: evaluar el impacto de la histoteca teniendo en cuenta el grado de satisfacción y los resultados docentes de los estudiantes.Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, a los 419 estudiantes que visitaron la histoteca en el periodo de septiembre de 2016 a enero de 2018, la muestra fue de 103 estudiantes luego de seleccionar los que la visitaron con frecuencia. Se revisaron todas las preparaciones histológicas disponibles, se verificaron las fotografías del laminario digital y las microfotografías. Se aplicó una encuesta a la muestra seleccionada y se validaron sus resultados docentes en la asignatura Célula, tejidos y sistema tegumentario.Resultados: el grado de satisfacción promedio fue de 4,49. Los resultados docentes de los estudiantes seleccionados con relación a la asignatura Célula, tejidos y sistema tegumentario fue a predominio de bien y excelente para el 88%.Conclusiones: el estado y funcionamiento de la histoteca es óptimo para brindar servicios de apoyo a la docencia y la investigación. Lo que ha incidido en los resultados docentes de excelencia y en un elevado grado de satisfacción de los estudiantes.ABSTRACTObjective: to evaluate the impact of histoteca taking into account the grade of satisfaction and the academicians results of the students.Materials and methods: a descriptive study was carried out in the Latin American Medicine School to the 419 students who visited the histoteca in the period from September 2016 to January 2018, the sample was of 103 students, after chosing the one who visited it frequently. All the histological preparations available were reviewed, the photos of digital plating and the micro photos were verified. A survey was applied to the selected sample the its academic results were validated in the subject Cell, tissues and tegumentary system.Results: the satisfaction grade was of 4,49. The academic results of the chosen students in relation to the subject Cell, tissues and tegumentary system was the predominance of good and excellent to the 88%.Conclusions: the state and working of the histoteca is optimum to offer services to support the aca-demic and investigation. It has incided in the academic results of excellence and in a high grade of satis-faction of the students.

Presentación y defensa de resultados científicos / Presentation and defense of scientific results Presentación y defensa de resultados científicos / Presentation and defense of scientific resultsObjetivo: Elaborar una alternativa metodológica que permita a los profesionales la preparación y presentación de los trabajos de investigación de forma lógica, con una escritura y un lenguaje científico adecuados.Materiales y Métodos: Se utilizó un modelo de investigación cualicuantitativa en la que se emplearon métodos teóricos y empíricos. Se efectuó el análisis, síntesis y contrastación de los diferentes criterios y posiciones de los autores de la literatura revisada y se aplicó la discusión grupal, que se realizó en tres grupos diferentes.Resultados: Se logró elaborar una alternativa metodológica que permita a todos los profesionales la elaboración y presentación de los trabajos de investigación de forma lógica, con una escritura y un lenguaje científico adecuado, contribuyendo a perfeccionar la producción científica de nuestra Institución.Conclusiones: Se obtiene una visión más integral para la obtención y presentación de los resultados científicos y seidentificaron las fortalezas y las debilidades de los investigadores de los proyectos de investigación, aspirantes del proceso de doctorado, así como la revisión de artículos publicados en la revista “Panorama. Cuba y Salud”. Constituyó una herramienta para la preparación integral de los profesionales de nuestra Institución, mayor preparación científico metodológica de nuestros docentes, para organizar, planificar y ejecutar el trabajo científico.Palabras clave: resultado científico; presentación; defensa; socialización; impacto.ABSTRACTObjective: to develop a methodological alternative that allows professionals to prepare and present research papers in a logical manner, with adequate writing and scientific language.Materials and Methods: a qualitative and quantitative research model was used in which theoretical and empirical methods were used. The analysis, synthesis and contrast of the different criteria and positions of the authors of the reviewed literature was carried out and the group discussion was applied, which was carried out in three different groups.Results: It was possible to elaborate a methodological alternative that allows all the professionals the elaboration and presentation of the works of investigation of logical form, with a writing and a suitable scientific language, contributingto perfect the scientific production of our Institution.Conclusions: a more comprehensive vision for the obtaining and presentation of the scientific results is obtained and the strengths and weaknesses of the researchers of the research projects, aspirants of the doctorate process, as well as the review of articles published in the journal were identified. “Cuba and Health Panorama”. It constituted a tool for the integral preparation of the professionals of our Institution, greater scientific methodological preparation of our teachers, to organize, plan and execute the scientific work.Keywords: scientific result; presentation; defending; socialization; impact.
