SUMMARY
As mobile devices become more affordable, sustainable and portable, they have become kinds of personal ecosystem to people in the 21st century, and they bring unprecedented educational opportunities to students of all socio-economic levels. This research explored the potential use of mobile devices in selected public senior high schools in the City of Manila, Philippines. A total of 152 students from a couple of schools have participated in this study. It was found that the majority of the participants have some form of mobile devices and internet access as they were used for a variety of learning activities outside the classroom settings. However, substantial digital inequalities also exist among public schools in the City of Manila. Overall, the findings indicate that mobile devices have shown potential to be adopted in existing public senior high schools, and there is a need to update policy and curricula to respond to the mobile era.https://doi.org/10.26803/ijlter.17.4.7
