VIRTUAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES AS EFFECTIVE MEANS FOR ICT COMPETENCE FORMATION: FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

Virtual educational (learning) communities are becoming more common in the practice of foreign countries teachers. Their integration into the learning process of a comprehensive school not only provides an opportunity to create a modern innovative learning environment, but also is an effective means of ICT competencies formation for both students and teachers. The article presents the most successful examples of virtual learning communities have been created in europenian and ukrainian schools; given platforms, which are often used by foreign teachers in their practice (Moodle, WizIQ, Vyew, Twiningspace) for the formation of such communities, as well as their opportunities for training and teaching in secondary schools.
