The influence of operating system on food and water consumption of fat pigs

SUMMARY

The research maiden has as purpose the study of fat pigs behavior depending on operating system (industrial system and extensively). Feed consumption under ad libitum feeding take place as sequences with approximately equal duration in males and females (intensively) and 14'54 "± .56" and 14'39 "± 1'02" while on the animals operated in household system the time of food consumption is unequal, with sequences 16'23 "± 0.44" in males and 18'46 "± 0.62" for females. Water consumption is relatively higher after the morning feed in household system, in both sexes, thing that is not found on animals intensively exploited with witch has food and water at discretion.
