Right to Equality in Education

SUMMARY

The objective of this research is to analyze the problems related to equality and non-discrimination in the educational field and to appreciate the current legal provisions that have currently tried to solve it. The methodology used was the documentary content analysis and the analytical-synthetic theoretical method. Through the critical study of the evolution of the international declarations and regulations on the subject, as well as its expression in particular in the European Union and Ecuador, it is concluded that even though an extensive path has been taken in the legal treatment the right to equality of women and especially their manifestation in the field of education, together with the fact that the foundations are laid for the eradication of forms of discrimination based on gender, still more concrete and effective measures are required that accompany and allow to carry out in a more consistent way the current legal provisions.
