GENERATION OF IMAGE IN MEDIA TEXTS: SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS

SUMMARY

Abstract: The article examines the process of understanding media texts. The author shows that media suggest a nonclassical scheme of understanding. The meaning is replaced by the visual image. There is a sort of visualization of a message that becomes accessible only in the process of comprehension. The conclusion is than media is similar to  classical text and art at the same time.
