Efektivitas Akar Vetiver Terhadap Peningkatan Kohesi Tanah Lereng Sebagai Tinjauan Untuk Perkuatan Lereng

SUMMARY

Strengthening slope by bio-engineering/ vegetative method is one of the effort to handle landslides on the slopes by utilizing plants. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of vetiver roots in increasing slope soil cohesion as a review of slope reinforcement. The study was conducted by modeling slope in a model with dimensions of 150 cm × 50 cm × 70 cm with a slope of 70° and 80° as well as soil property testing before and after retrofitting in the laboratory, both physical and mechanical. The mechanical test carried out is testing the shear strength directly on the sample before and after planting Vetiver at a depth of 0 – 30 cm and 30 – 60 cm. The soil classification obtained based on the results of physical soil testing is in the MH group (silt with high plasticity). Based on research was obtained that vetiver roots can increase the cohesion values at a depth of 0 – 30 cm at 358,037% and 218,182% at a depth of 30 – 60 cm against slope of 70°, whereas for slope of 80° increase the cohesion values at 251,928% at a depth of 0 – 30 cm and 220,514% at a depth of 30 – 60 cm.Perkuatan lereng dengan metode bio-engineering/ vegetatif merupakan salah satu upaya penanganan longsor pada lereng dengan memanfaatkan tanaman.
