The Effect of Adaptive Text Presentation Techniques on Acquires Expressive Reading Skills of Elementary School Students

SUMMARY

The study examines the effect of adaptive text presentation techniques (conditional/ stretch) on the expressive reading skills of elementary school students. The participants are two experimental groups: Group A (n = 10) was taught content through adaptive conditional text presentation techniques, and group B (n = 10) was taught content through the adaptive stretch text presentation techniques. The results showed that the adaptive text presentation techniques (conditional/ stretch) have an effect on enhancing students’ expressive reading skills. Also, the comparison of the techniques showed no significant difference between the mean scores of the two groups. In light of these results, it is recommended that an expansion of the use of adaptive presentation techniques for enhancing students’ skills in elementary schools is needed.
