Comparative study of decompression events in traditional divers and modern divers

SUMMARY

Decompression can occur due to decreased pressure when the diver rises to the surface, releasing gases from solutions, especially nitrogen, in the tissues and blood, forming bubbles in the blood. The formation of air bubbles can block blood flow and nerves. It will cause symptoms of joint pain, headaches, itching, numbness, paralysis, and even death. Decompression is one of the diseases caused by diving. This study compared decompression events in traditional divers with modern divers in the Kawal area, Gunung Kijang District, Riau Islands. The research design was conducted comparatively with a sample size of 25 traditional and 25 modern divers. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique. The results showed no difference in the incidence of decompression in both traditional divers and modern divers in the Kawal area, Gunung Kijang District, Riau Islands. Most respondents have experienced decompression events, both traditional and contemporary divers. However, there is a tendency for traditional divers to experience decompression events 1.136 times compared to modern divers. Decompression events can occur in all traditional and professional or contemporary divers. In addition to knowing the safety and security of diving, divers must also pay attention to their health conditions.

Las indagaciones teóricas: histórico-lógico, modelación, sistematización, educación comparada, vivencial y análisis documental. Como indagaciones empíricas: la observación, las encuestas y las entrevistas. Dentro de los métodos estadísticos: los cálculos porcentuales, se calculó la mediana conjunta y se utilizaron tablas de contingencia para organizar la información.Resultados: se constató la validez de la investigación, con las transformaciones cualitativas que se producen en los profesores, en este caso 24 profesores de la formación doctoral de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina. Se aborda la Educación Avanzada como teoría educativa que se identifica por el carácter humanista, la influencia en la mejora de los comportamientos humanos, el proceso de producción intelectual, en el desempeño profesional, como una de las acciones y resultados, así como la relación con la inteligencia emocional, y se constata como esta relación dirige el pensamiento pedagógico, hacia la esfera de los sentimientos y las emociones de los profesores en el proceso de superación profesional.Conclusiones: se verifica que el desarrollo de las habilidades emocionales aumenta la capacidad intelectual de los profesores y favorece una formación cualitativamente superior de los recursos humanos y laborales como objetivos que defiende la Educación Avanzada, para mejorar la práctica educativa en la superación.Palabras clave: Educación Avanzada; Inteligencia Emocional; comportamientos humanos. ABSTRACT Objective: to verify how the correspondence between the guiding principle structuring the theory of Advanced Education and the characteristics enunciated by various authors on emotional intelligence is evidenced.Materials and methods: theoretical and empirical methods were used. Theoretical inquiries: historical-logical, modeling, systematization, comparative, experiential education and documentary analysis. As empirical inquiries: observation, surveys and interviews. Within the statistical methods: the percentage calculations, the joint median was calculated and contingency tables were used to organize the information.Results: the validity of the research was verified, with the qualitative transformations that take place in the professors, in this case 24 professors of the Doctoral Formation of the Latin American School of Medicine. Advanced Education is approached as an educational theory that is identified by the humanistic character, the influence on the improvement of human behaviors, the process of intellectual production, on professional performance, as one of the actions and results, as well as the relationship with emotional intelligence and it is confirmed how this relationship directs pedagogical thinking, towards the sphere of teachers’ feelings and emotions in the process of professional improvement.Conclusions: it is verified that the development of emotional skills increases the intellectual capacity of teachers, favors a qualitatively superior training of human and labor resources as objectives defended by Advanced Education, to improve educational practice in overcoming.Keywords: Advanced Education; Emotional Intelligence; human behaviors.
