Action plan for the communication process in a nursing team

SUMMARY

The objective of this study is to propose an action plan for the communication process in the nursing team. The theoretical references were: the model of a communication process proposed by Berlo and essential concepts of King´s Theory. It is a qualitative, convergent-care research. The data production technique was the semi-structured interview with 25 nurses of a public hospital. Data used the thematic content analysis technique. The elements of the communication team are: perception, self, space, time, stress, role, authority, power, status, audience, empathy and nonverbal communication. The plan proposes a dynamic, flexible, interactive and relational communication process, in order to contribute to the professional qualification and make new practices of care viable. It was concluded that its elements do not have a fixed and stable position, but throughout the process they are used according to the needs of each party.

En el momento actual donde la Universalización de la Educación Médica Superior en Cuba es una realidad, se impone la necesidad de una estrategia que fortalezca desde la atención primaria a través de la promoción de salud la labor extensionista de la universidad médica con la comunidad y para la comunidad. Sin embargo, aún la materialización práctica del concepto amplio sobre dicho trabajo muestra algunas barreras. El trabajo promocional y sociocultural universitario denota una marcada relación dialéctica entre sus dos dimensiones: la administrativa y la tecnológica, las que desde su comprensión e implementación posibilitan perfeccionar la labor extensionista de la Universidad. El nuevo paradigma descansa sobre un concepto amplio de la Extensión Universitaria, diversificado con su consecuente aplicación en la práctica, asumiéndolo como un proceso formativo, dinámico e integrador, multifacético respaldado por un sistema de formación y capacitación, estimulación, comunicación y aseguramiento que hagan más efectiva dicha labor. La promoción de salud es el eje central de la labor extensionista en la Universidad Médica Cubana, coadyuvando a elevar el nivel de conciencia y la capacidad de acción, tanto individual como colectiva a través de sus proyectos en vertientes fundamentales como la comunidad universitaria y extrauniversitaria, con la identificación de las principales necesidades de salud (ASS). Palabras clave: universidades, educación médica, atención primaria de salud, estrategias nacionales.ABSTRACTThe university extension, due to its importance and complexity, must be in line with a strategic perspective and with its corresponding expression within the planning of Higher Medical Education and at the level of the institutions and their structures at the same time. Currently, the universalization of Higher Medical Education in Cuba is a reality, that is why it is necessary to create a strategy which reinforces primary health care by means of health promotion, the features of the medical university extension for and with the community. However; in practice such concept shows some barriers to bring it to fruition. Promotional and university sociocultural works indicate a marked dialectic relationship between the two dimensions: administrative and technological, which from the point of view of its comprehension and implementation make possible to perfect the university extension. The new paradigm is supported by an all-embracing concept of University Extension, that is consistently diversified into its application in practice and undertake as a formative, dynamic, comprehensive and multi-faceted process, which at the same time is endorsed by a system of formation, training, encouragement, communication and assurance to make this work more effective. Health promotion is the core of the university extension in Cuban Medical University, it contributes to increase the level of awareness and the capacity of action from the individual and collective point of view by means of its projects; having basic aspects such as: the university and the extra-university community, where the main health needs are identified.Key words: universities, medical education, primary health care; national strategies.

Virtual classroom of health. 2018RESUMEN  La Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina posee las condiciones tecnológicas requeridas y el recurso humano preparado para la utilización del ambiente virtual en el proceso de enseñanzaaprendizaje. El curso Gerencia universitaria y en salud se imparte a residentes de las especialidades Biomédicas de esta universidad. Esta forma de superación posgraduada carecía de acciones educativas planificadas metodológicamente en los Entornos Virtuales de Enseñanza Aprendizaje. A pesar de la introducción de determinados recursos educativos en el Aula Virtual de Salud, su utilización no es óptima y los residentes están limitados en el desarrollo de esta modalidad de Educación a Distancia. Se realizó una revisión documental para el análisis de la bibliografía referente a los Entornos Virtuales de Enseñanza Aprendizaje y Gerencia y los procesos lógicos del pensamiento: el análisis, la síntesis y el enfoque sistémico. Se efectuó el trabajo metodológico entre los profesores de los departamentos de Informática médica y de Ciencias Sociales. Se obtuvieron resultados relativos a la optimización del tiempo para los residentes y los profesores, mejoramiento de la calidad del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje en correspondencia con las exigencias sociales y educativas actuales, el desarrollo de las actividades interactivas con el uso de la plataforma colaborativa Moodle y el mejoramiento profesional de los participantes. La utilización de los entornos virtuales de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el Curso Gerencia universitaria y en salud de las especialidades biomédicas de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, permite el uso más productivo del tiempo y mejora la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.Palabras clave: Entornos Virtuales de Enseñanza Aprendizaje; Gerencia.ABSTRACT  The Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) has the technological conditions required and the human resource for the use of virtual environment in the teaching learning process. The university management course and in health is teaching to residents of Biomedical specialties in ELAM. This form of postgraduate upgrade was deficient of educative actions, methodologically planed in virtual environments of Teaching Learning(EVEA). Inspire of the introduction of determined educative resources in the Virtual Classroom of Health(AVS), its utilization is not optimal and the residents are limited in the development of the Distance Education modality. As methods were used the documental review for the analysis of bibliography related to EVEA and Management and the logical processes of thinking: analysis, synthesis and systemic focus. The methodological work was done between professors from Medical Informatics and Social Science departments. Results related to optimization of time for residents and professors, improvement of teaching learning quality process were reached in correspondence with actual social and educative requirements, the development of interactive activities with the use of Moodle collaborative platform and professional improvement of participants. The utilization of virtual environment of teaching learning in University Management Course and in health of biomedical specialties of the ELAM, allows more productive use of time and the quality improvement of the teaching learning process.Keywords: Virtual Environment in the Teaching Learning; management.
