Estimo e Project Management: l’orientamento disciplinare italiano

SUMMARY

Project Management is a transverse subject that embraces several disciplinary approaches. The methodological basis in Italy is somewhat out of line with other contexts, especially of English-speaking nations. But there is still room for its further potentialisation in professional and academic environment. Through the recent literature we seek the reasons for the current resistance to change. An account will given of the ways to strengthen the position of Project Management in Faculty of Architecture curricula, especially in courses of Appraisal and Economic Evaluation of Projects. A step is the construction of a cohesive reference pattern representative of the actual situation starting from project’s life cycle, and its comparison with the “managerial” interpretation.
