SUMMARY
Ensino. We made a studyof Bloomfield’s formalist theory, and delineated the ideas that permeate thebehaviorism, whose main theorist is Skinner. Among the several methodsthat constitute the track of teaching languages in the country, in anstructuralist approach, we chose the Audiolingual method as the focus of thispaper. Thus, this article comes up with a brief reflection about the way theStructuralism permeates the teaching of languages in Brazil, such as in theaspects of methodology, in the design of classroom materials and in theteacher’s formation. Besides we are looked for evidences of how these tracescan still be observed. We bring here some reflections in order to clarify the notion that the teaching has structuralist traces so that teachers can beconscious about them. Keywords: Structuralism. Teaching.
