Female entrepreneurship and work-family conflict: multicases study in the commerce sector of construction material in the city of Curitiba

SUMMARY

The authors who analyze work-family conflict have salient the importance of the balance between work and family devotion of time, had detached three dimensions where conflicts between work and family can be found: time, tension and behavior. The present research has the objective to present the work-family conflicts perceived by two female entrepreneurs of commerce sector of construction material in the city of Curitiba, as well as the actions these entrepreneurs take to deal with the identified conflicts. Through qualitative research multicases study type, the entrepreneurs and their partners had been interviewed. The findings of the research corroborate studies cited in the theoretical framework, being time the more frequently factor cited as generating of work-family conflicts and the emotional control, the more cited action as extenuating of these same conflicts.
