SUMMARY
Puspenerbal as a builder of air readiness of navy has an important role in the field of defense and security. This role is manifested in the deployment of aircraft elemental forces in carrying out flight functions, namely tactical air reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare, anti-ship over the surface, landing of landing troops, across aircraft, rapid logistical support, maritime patrols, sea combat operations and organizing naval aviation material development. The organization implementing the tasks of Puspenerbal in carrying out combat operations includes the Air Wing 2. The organizational development of the Air Wing 2 is a logical consequence of increasing the number of aircraft elements it has, so it requires high competence and work motivation from Air Wing 2 Soldiers as crew. The object of research is 99 soldiers of the 2nd Air Wing. The obtained data were analyzed using statistics and processed with SPSS program. The variables used in this study are training in service, competence and work motivation. The training variable in the service is denoted as the X variable, the competence variable is denoted as the Y1 variable, while the work motivation variable is denoted as the Y2 variable. The results showed that there was an influence between training in the service on the competence of soldiers and there was an influence between training in the service on the work motivation of soldiers.
