Examination of the Rast Maqam's Appropriateness to the Violin From the Point of Range and TessituraRast makaminin ses alani ve tessitura açisindan kemana uygunlugunun incelenmesi

SUMMARY

AbstractTessitura, the density of the notes in the voice field, has a great importance for both playing and teaching music. During recent years, due to the spreading of computer usage in musical researches, the number of analysis increased and the importance of tessitura has been understood better. This study aims to determine the appropriateness of Rast maqam for the violin by comparing the voice ranges and the tessituras of Rast and violin. In  this  study 50 compositions in Rast maqam and 200 violin etudes consist of 100 major and 100 minor etudes which have been chosen randomly are used. The tessituras and the voice ranges of Rast maqam and violin are shown in the tables, the similarities and the differences are defined and the appropriateness of Rast maqam to the violin instrument is researched. To define the appropriateness between them, Pearson corelation, r, which, is a frequently used technique in measuring the musical similarities. As the result of the study, some differencies caused of belonging to different cultures are determined while some similarities can also be seen. This study is important because of using the statistical analysis methods and including both Traditional Turkish Classic musical maqams from the different point of views with different methods. ÖzetMüzikte gerek icra gerekse egitim-ögretim açisindan ezgilerin ses alani içindeki nota yogunluklari (tessitura) büyük önem tasimaktadir. Son yillarda, müzik arastirmalarinda bilgisayar kullaniminin daha da yayginlasmasiyla analiz çalismalari artmis ve tessituranin önemi daha iyi anlasilmaya baslamistir. Bu çalisma, Rast makaminin ses alani ve  tessiturasini kemanin ses alani ve tessiturasiyla karsilastirilarak Rast makaminin kemana uygunlugunu belirlemek amaciyla yapilmistir. Çalismada, Türkiye’de müzik okullarinda keman egitiminde kullanilan, rastgele seçilen 100 Majör, 100 minör olmak üzere toplam 200 keman etüdü ve 50 Rast sarki kullanilmistir. Rast makaminin ve kemanin, ses alanlari ve tessitura özellikleri tablolarla gösterilmis, aralarindaki benzerlik ve farkliliklar belirlenmis ve karsilastirma yapilarak Rast makaminin keman çalgisina uygunluk durumu arastirilmistir. Uygunluk durumunu belirlemede, müzikte melodik benzerliklerin ölçülmesinde sikça kullanilan istatistiksel bir teknik olan Pearson korelasyon katsayisi, r, kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin sonucunda, iki grup arasinda bir taraftan benzerlikler görülürken diger taraftan da baska kültürlere ait olmanin getirdigi farkliliklar saptanmistir. Bu çalisma, Geleneksel Türk Sanat Müzigi ve Bati müziginin her ikisini de kapsamasi, G.T.S.M. makamlari üzerinde daha önce çalisilmamis konularin farkli açilardan ve farkli yöntemlerle ele alinmasi ve çalismada istatistiksel analiz yöntemlerinin kullanilmasi açilarindan önem tasimaktadir.
