Caracterización clínica y epidemiológica de pacientes con Infarto Agudo del Miocardio con elevación del segmento ST / Clinical and epidemiological characterization of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction Caracterización clínica y epidemiológica de pacientes con Infarto Agudo del Miocardio con elevación del segmento ST / Clinical and epidemiological characterization of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctionObjetivo: caracterizar clínica y epidemiológicamente a lospacientes diagnosticados con Infarto Agudo del Miocardio conelevación del segmento ST en el servicio de Cardiología del Hospital“Celia Sánchez Manduley” de Manzanillo en el período desde enerohasta diciembre de 2019.Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo transversalde los 138 pacientes ingresados por Infarto Agudo del Miocardiocon elevación del segmento ST, en el servicio de Cardiología enel período desde enero hasta diciembre de 2019. Las variablesestudiadas fueron: edad, sexo, trombolisis, complicacionesy topografía. Para el análisis de los datos se aplicaron medidasestadísticas como frecuencia absoluta y relativa, que permitierondescribir y obtener los resultados en el estudio.Resultados: el sexo masculino representó el 59,8%, así comolos de 60–69 años (31,1%). Predominaron los pacientes notrombolizados (68,8%), solo 51 presentaron complicaciones.Conclusiones: el Infarto Agudo de Miocardio es una entidadreflejada mayormente en la población masculina de edad avanzada,existiendo ciertas complicaciones que provocarían compromisorespiratorio.Palabras clave: Infarto del Miocardio; Cardiopatía Isquémica;trombolisis.ABSTRACTObjective: The present study was carried out with the aimof characterizing clinically and epidemiologically the patientsdiagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infarction with ST-segmentelevation in the Cardiology service of the “Celia Sánchez Manduley”Hospital in Manzanillo in the period from January to December2019.Metodo: a descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study of the138 patients admitted for Acute Myocardial Infarction with STsegmentelevation was performed in the Cardiology departmentfrom January to December 2019. The variables studied were: age,sex, thrombolysis, complications and topography. For the analysisof the data, statistical measures such as absolute and relativefrequencies were applied, which allowed describing and obtainingthe results in the study.Results: the masculine sex represented 59.8 %, as well as those of60 - 69 years in 31.1 %. Non-thrombolized patients predominatedin 68.8 %, only 51 presented complications.Conclusions: acute Myocardial Infarction is an entity reflectedmostly in the elderly male population, with certain complicationsthat would cause respiratory involvement.Keywords: Myocardial Infarction; Ischemic Cardiopathy;thrombolysis.
