Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica, eficacia de su manejo multidisciplinar Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía. 2005-2017 / Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, efficacy of its multidisciplinary management Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery. 2005-2017 Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica, eficacia de su manejo multidisciplinar Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía. 2005-2017 / Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, efficacy of its multidisciplinary management Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery. 2005-2017Objetivo: evaluar la eficacia del proceso de atenciónmultidisciplinaria a pacientes con Esclerosis Lateral Amiotróficaatendidos en el Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía en el períodode 2005-2017.Método: se realizó una evaluación de la eficacia del procesode atención multidisciplinaria a pacientes con Esclerosis LateralAmiotrófica atendidos en el Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía,a través de una intervención a partir del 2012 en calidad de laatención y de los registros sanitarios; se dividió en dos etapas. Enel período de 2005-2011 integraron el estudio 72 pacientes y en2012-2017 (75). El procesamiento estadístico se realizó a travésde la comparación de las medias de dos muestras no paramétricas,test U Mann Whitney y comparación de proporciones por test decomparación de proporciones Z, con una confiabilidad del 95% yp<0.05.Resultados: se obtuvo durante el período de 2012-2017 unadisminución de la latencia diagnóstica para forma bulbar en 3,24meses; 5,4 meses más de sobrevida y no hubo lugar de muertesin precisar e inclusión de la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica comocausa de muerte en el 96% de los certificados de defunción, todosestadísticamente significativos.Conclusiones: se evaluó como eficaz el proceso de atencionesmultidisciplinario a pacientes con Esclerosis Lateral Amiotróficaatendidos en el Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía durante elperiodo 2005-2017.Palabras clave: atención multidisciplinar; cuidados paliativos;enfermedad de neurona motora; Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica.ABSTRACTObjective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the multidisciplinarycare process for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis treatedat the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in the period 2005-2017.Method: an evaluation of the effectiveness of the multidisciplinarycare process was carried out for patients with Amyotrophic LateralSclerosis treated at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery,through an intervention from 2012 on quality of care and healthrecords; it was divided into two stages. In the period 2005-2011,72 patients were included in the study and in 2012-2017 (75).Statistical processing was carried out through the comparison ofthe means of two non-parametric samples, the Mann WhitneyU test, and the comparison of proportions by the Z proportionscomparison test, with a reliability of 95% and p <0.05.Results: during the period 2012-2017 a decrease in diagnosticlatency was obtained for bulbar form in 3.24 months; 5.4 moremonths of survival and there was no place of death withoutspecifying and inclusion of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis as a causeof death in 96% of the death certificates, all statistically significant.Conclusions: the multidisciplinary care process for patients withAmyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis treated at the Institute of Neurologyand Neurosurgery during the period 2005-2017 was evaluated aseffective.Keywords: multidisciplinary care; palliative care; motor neurondisease; Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Pinar del RioCaracterización del maltrato a ancianos. Consejo Popular Capitán San Luis. Pinar del Río / Characterization of mistreatment to the elderly. "Capitan San Luis" Popular Council. Pinar del RioSe realizó un estudio descriptivo, de corte transversal sobre la caracterización del maltrato a los ancianos, tomándose como universo a 650 pacientes, después de aplicarles los criterios de inclusión y exclusión la muestra quedó constituida por 90 ancianos del Grupo Básico de Trabajo número 3 del Consejo Popular Capitán San Luis, pertenecientes al Policlínico "Turcios Lima" de Pinar del Río, durante el período comprendido de julio de 2007 a marzo de 2008, con el objetivo de identificar el comportamiento del maltrato en el Adulto Mayor según el grupo de edades y sexo, los tipos de maltratos recibidos por los ancianos y su notificación por ellos, detectar el principal agresor e identificar la necesidad de información sobre el tema. La información se recogió a partir de una encuesta, aplicada por los médicos y enfermeras de la familia de sus cuatro consultorios médicos de la comunidad. Para el análisis estadístico de los datos se utilizó la prueba de ji Cuadrado, al 95 % de certeza. El grupo de edades más maltratado fue el de 60 a 69 años, con predominio del sexo femenino, sobre todo por maltrato psicológico. Los hijos y familiares resultaron ser los principales agresores más cercanos. This study was conducted from July 2007 to March 2008 aimed at identifying the behavior of mistreatment in the elderly according to the age bracket and sex, kind of mistreatment and those kinds of abuse the elderly notified, detecting the main aggressor and identifying the need of information about the topic. The information was taken from a survey, applied by family doctors and nurses of the four doctor's offices in the community. To perform the statistical analysis the chi square test with 95% of certainty was used. Ages from 60 to 69 showed the highest percent, prevailing female sex and psychological mistreatment. Sons, daughters and relatives were the closets aggressors. The elderly recognized the need of spreading information about the topic.Key words: The elderly/rehabilitation
