DATA STREAMING TECHNOLOGY IN ADULT EDUCATION VIA NEARPOD

SUMMARY

In the paper the theoretical background and practical experience of data streaming technology in the adult education using the Nearpod platform is discussed. A brief analysis of recent research defining data streaming technology as a trend in information and communication technologies (ICT) in education is suggested. The theoretical foundations of the potential tendency towards further active implementation of data streaming technology in the adult educational process are summarized. The framework of categories and concepts is formalized, the tendency towards data streaming technology development is detected. Based on the results of recent studies it is proved that the number of adult users of smartphones with Internet access has increased recently. Moreover, a deep interest of adult Internet users in their self-education via online resources, and specifically using data streaming technology is observed. Various examples of modern services and mobile applications that are already being applied in the educational process and may be useful for data streaming in the coming years are defined and described. An example of using data streaming technology in adult education via Nearpod platform is suggested: the features and process of developing an electronic educational product are given; the additional platform resources that can improve the quality of the electronic educational product are identified and described; the advantages and disadvantages of using data streaming technology in learning process and adult education through the example of foreign language learning are summarized. The experience of using Nearpod platform in adult learning is generalized; the andragogical principles of its successful implementation into the adult learning process are defined. The prospects for future research in the sphere of data streaming technology in the educational process in general are outlined.
