SUMMARY
AbstractA liberating word for Africa? The Liberating Message by B.J. van der Walt B.J. van der Walt in his important work, The Liberating Message, emphasised the need for the Africanisation of Christian philosophy and theology. There can be no doubt that he introduced very important issues in the current debate. The question, however, must still be asked whether The Liberating Message offers us more than a Western view on African issues. If this is so, a further question remains whether there can be an African worldview with a Reformed Christian emphasis without changing the very emphasis of Africa itself. According to the author of this article, this question is still very relevant.
