SUMMARY
This article deals with the analysis of mistakes made by Slovene students of German Studies while writing a fairy tale in German.The main aim of the empirical research is to identify those areas (orthographical plane, syntactic-morphological plane and lexico-semantic plane) where the students make the most mistakes. We investigated which mistakes in each specific area appear more than once and what the reasons for these are.The results of the empirical research are of great importance for teachers as well as for authors of student course books for learning German, since they identify problematic areas in writing, thus enabling teachers of German to focus on these.
