SUMMARY
Shoreline erosion with socio-economic stakes is poorly studied in Brazzaville rivers; this one causes important losses of ground. The objective of this study is to understand the factors of bank degradation on the Mfilou river. The methodological approach combines documentary data collection, field data collection and laboratoryanalysis. The results indicate that bank incision on the Mfilou river is influenced by rainfall intensity, flood increase, and sensibility of bank materials. With an average flow of 40.81 m3/s, the average bank recession on the Mfilou river is 46.39cm/month.
