SUMMARY

Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual disorder that is often experienced by young women. In general, dysmenorrhea pain management is divided into two categories, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Non pharmacologically, include warm compresses and endorphine massage. This study aims to determine the effect of giving warm compresses and endorphine massage to the incidence of dysmenorrhea in Midwifery Study Program students, FKM UMI. The research was conducted at the Diploma of Midwifery Study Program, FKM UMI. The research design was One Group Prestest Posttest Only Design which was selected by non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. Pain scale measurements were carried out before and after warm compresses and endorphine massage using the NRS (Numeric Rate Scale). The analysis used to examine the effect of warm compresses and endophine massage on the incidence of dysmenorrhea is the Wilcoxon Rank Test. The results showed a comparison of the menstrual pain scale (dismneorhoe) before and after warm compresses and endorphine massage. The results of the comparison show that the significant value is 0.007 (a <0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving warm compresses and endorphine massage on reducing menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea) in Midwifery Study Program students, FKM UMI.Keywords: dysmenorrhea; warm compresses; endorphine massage
