Selection & Priorities of Private and governmental banks with Customer Value Offered (CVO) Approach by AHP-TOPSIS Tools

SUMMARY

The banks as financial and service institutes which have a determinative role in circulation of currency and wealth in a society, have a special position in the economy of each country and due to the competitive market, attracting customers is very important for the banks. The aims of this research are: to recognize the customers’ selection criteria in the field of micro banking between private and governmental banks, to group and to prioritize the customers’ selection criteria in the banking field between private and governmental banks and to offer the necessary solutions for the governmental and private banks in the scope of customers. The data of the research achieved by referring to a sample, containing 384 people of the customers of private and governmental banks in Tehran, using two stage cluster sampling method. Then the data were analyzed by the methods of AHP & TOPSIS. At first 32 criteria were identified. After more surveys, 15 criteria were selected as the main criteria. The results of the research showed that Decision – making for selection governmental banks were (security, facilities, and using the bank by the family for years) in the 1st to 3rd ranks respectively. But in the private banks, decision making criteria were another factors: (special operation for worthwhile customers, the behavior of the staff, and security) in the 1st to 3rd ranks respectively.
