SUMMARY
The present article deals with the concept of recognition in Hegel and some of its influences in the thought of Judith Butler. Initially, the concept of recognition in Hegel is presented and the appropriations carried out by Butler are explained. It is exposed how the discussion undertaken by the author allows the delimitation of an ethical field marked by the imperative to keep the human category open, as is the case with the category of gender. Finally, it is demonstrated how the appropriation of the concept of recognition in Hegel by Butler claims a reformulation of the normative field that would be governed by the imperative of the recognition of otherness.
