Views of parents about music lessons in secondary schools (sample of Nigde city)Ortaokul müzik dersine yönelik veli görüsleri (Nigde ili örnegi)

SUMMARY

The goal of this research is to determine the views of parents about music lessons in secondary schools within the territories of Nigde City; discover the attitudes of parents to music lessons in secondary schools according to their views; and develop the recommendations for current music lessons. Research is descriptive. Related data has been collected with a interview form that was developed by researchers according to experts’ review. In the analysis of data collected, the content analysis has been used. The universe of this research consists of the parents of the students who study in the education periods of 2013-2014/2014-2015, in secondary schools under Provincial Directorate for National Education in Nigde City; the sample group is 622 parents of students who study in the class 5,6 7 and 8 of secondary schools “Selçuk, Fahri Kirt, Fatih, Cumhuriyet, Azatli Küllüce, Isa Yüksel, Atatürk, Gazi, Zeynep Ecemis, Murtaza Naile Uyanik and Kanuni” that were randomly elected. According to research findings; the parents of the students in 5th class give importance to music lesson and are pleased with music lesson; the majority of parents of the students in 6th class regards music lessons as just a content, and their children love/interested in music lessons; the parents of the students in 7th class indicate that their children love music lesson and also find it necessary; the parents of the students in 8th class indicate that their children love music lesson and are interested in music lesson. Moreover, the views parents of the students in class 5, 6, 7 and 8 are based on lesson and student; these views are for affective field. ÖzetArastirmanin amaci, ortaokul müzik dersine iliskin veli görüslerini “Nigde Ili Örnegi” üzerinden belirlemek, bu görüsler dogrultusunda ögrenci velilerinin mevcut müzik derslerine yönelik tutumlarini ortaya koymak ve etkili bir müzik dersi için öneriler gelistirmektir. Arastirma betimsel niteliktedir. Ilgili veriler uzman görüsleri dogrultusunda arastirmacilar tarafindan gelistirilen yapilandirilmamis görüsme formu ile toplanmistir. Elde edilen nitel verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin evrenini 2013-2014/2014-2015 egitim ögretim yillarinda Nigde Il Milli Egitim Müdürlügü’ne bagli ortaokullarda ögrenim gören ögrencilerin velileri, örneklemini ise; bu ögrenciler arasindan tesadüfî örneklem yoluyla seçilen Selçuk, Fahri Kirt, Fatih, Cumhuriyet, Azatli Küllüce, Isa Yüksel, Atatürk, Gazi, Zeynep Ecemis, Murtaza Naile Uyanik ve Kanuni Ortaokullarinin 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sinifinda ögrenim gören 622 ögrencinin velisi olusturmaktadir. Arastirma bulgulari dogrultusunda; Ortaokul 5. sinif ögrenci velilerinin çogunlugunun müzik dersini önemli buldugu, çocugunun müzik dersini sevdigi ve müzik dersinden memnun oldugu; Ortaokul 6. sinif ögrenci velilerinin çogunlugunun müzik dersini içerik olarak degerlendirdigi, çocugunun müzik dersini sevdigi ve çocugunun müzik dersine ilgili oldugunu belirttigi; Ortaokul  7. sinif ögrenci velilerinin çogunlugunun çocugunun müzik dersini sevdigi, müzik dersini gerekli ve önemli bulduklari; Ortaokul 8. sinif ögrenci velilerinin çogunlugunun çocugunun müzik dersini sevdigi, müzik dersini güzel buldugu ve çocugunun müzik dersine ilgili oldugu sonuçlarina ulasilmistir. Ayrica ortaokul 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sinif ögrenci velilerinin konuya iliskin görüslerinin ders ve ögrenci odakli oldugu, bu görüslerin de büyük çogunlukla duyussal alana yönelik oldugu tespit edilmistir.
