SUMMARY
In today's network society structure the new web technologies, especially digital social environments or social networking sites, have created unique areas for online communication. The main sources of motivation for the political use of social networks; the factors that impede the use of these environments politically; as well as the social consequences of the political use of social networks in democratic regimes are important issues. In this way, the desire of young citizens, defined as net generation, to share their social and political opinions in digital social environments and their attitudes towards using these venues as a platform of political expression have been examined. Young people's values that they attribute to political activities in digital social environments, as well as how they evaluate the political activities in these settings as a part of their daily lives were analyzed empirically through quantitative and qualitative data. For an important part of the youth, these environments are regarded as democratic settings in which they can express themselves politically and share political content, but a remarkable participant, due to a number of impeding factors and concerns, does not have a positive attitude towards the political use of these environments.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file. Dijital sosyal aglarin siyasal amaçli kullanilmasindaki temel motivasyon kaynaklari, bu mecralarin siyasal temelde kullanimini engelleyici faktörler ve ayrica bunun demokratik rejimlerde bireysel ve toplumsal düzeydeki etkileri veya sonuçlari önem arz etmektedir. Bu yönde, çalismada ag kusagi olarak tanimlanan genç yurttaslarin dijital sosyal ortamlarda sosyal ve siyasal fikirlerini paylasma arzulari veya egilimleri ve bu mecralari bir siyasal tartisma platformu olarak kullanmaya yönelik tutumlari veya yaklasimlari incelenmistir. Baska bir deyisle, makalede genç kusaklarin dijital sosyal aglardaki siyasal içerikli etkinliklere yükledikleri anlamlar ve bu mecralardaki siyasal etkinlikleri gündelik hayatlarinda nereye konumlandirdiklari meselesi nicel ve nitel veriler araciligiyla ampirik düzeyde irdelenmistir. Gençlerin önemli bir kismi için bu mecralar siyasal temelde kendini ifade etmeyi içeren paylasimlarin yapilabilecegi demokratik ortamlar olarak degerlendirilse de dikkate deger bir katilimci kitlesi bu mecralarda gerçeklesen siyasal etkinliklere yönelik bir dizi engelleyici etken ve kaygi temelinde olumlu bir yaklasim içinde degildir.
