The project of the protocol of a pharmacist for dispensing OTC-drugs: prevention of unwanted pregnancy and support of family planning

SUMMARY

According to the data of Ukrainian researchers, inUkrainethe common approach to get rid of unwanted pregnancy is abortion. The basic reason for this phenomenon is lack of awareness and reluctance of Ukrainian women to use modern methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies, such as hormones. Taking into account the advisory role the pharmacist in the pharmacy, the providing of theoretical and practical basis for the provision of pharmaceutical care of the rational use of contraceptives to the population by a pharmacist is expediential. The article presents the results of clinical and pharmacological analysis of contraceptives, which are registered inUkraine. The results give evidence that the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is saturated with combined oral hormonal drugs, which requires the high compliance of the customer, due to the long-term course of administration, and a variety of side effects. The Project of Protocol of pharmacist for OTC-drugs dispensing: prevention of unwanted pregnancies and support of family planning was presented. It was elaborated on the basis of the State formulary 7th issue and the State Register of medicinal products in Ukraine.
