SUMMARY
Dans une période caractérisée par de nouvelles formes d'articulation entre archives et bibliothèques, cet article tente une expérience à partir d'un segment de la correspondance du jésuite Jerónimo Nadal, pendant l'année 1553 au Portugal : comment concevoir la relation entre une bibliothèque naissante et une archive en construction dans les écrits eux-mêmes ? Nous ne regarderons pas au-delà de la grande séparation entre sources manuscrites et sources imprimées qui a marqué les deux siècles précédents, mais plutôt en dessous de cette séparation, lorsque la division entre archives manuscrites et bibliothèque imprimée commençait à se dessiner, et se superposait à la division entre écriture secrète et publication. In a period characterized by new forms of articulation between archives and libraries, this article attempts an experiment based on a segment of the correspondence of the Jesuit Jerónimo Nadal, during the year 1553 in Portugal: how can we conceive the relationship between an emerging library and an archive under construction in the same writings? We will not be looking beyond the great separation of manuscript and printed sources that marked the previous two centuries, but rather below this separation, when the division between the manuscript archive and the printed library was beginning to take shape, and which overlaps with the division between secret writing and publication.
