SUMMARY
El artículo se aproxima a una temática de crecienteimportancia para la sociedad cubana: el fenómenode la emigración juvenil y el rol de la familiaen este proceso. Este fenómeno reviste especialimportancia debido a los múltiples impactos negativosen diversas esferas de la sociedad cubana,del éxodo de jóvenes hacia el exterior, con losconsiguientes costos para el desarrollo económicoy social del país. El artículo se basa en un estudiode casos que intentó explicar la articulación de laemigración de jóvenes capitalinos con las estrategiasdiseñadas e implementadas por sus familias–residentes en el Consejo Popular Plaza, localizadoen el municipio capitalino del mismo nombreparagarantizar el cumplimiento de sus funcionesesenciales, principalmente la económica. Comoresultado de esta investigación, se constató el rolde la familia en relación con el proceso migratorio:aunque solo en pocos casos el grupo familiar en sutotalidad participó en la toma de decisión de emigrarde esos jóvenes, sí se han articulado estrategiasfamiliares de diversa índole a partir de la salidaal exterior de aquellos.AbstractThe current article is a scientific approach to avery important theme for the Cuban society: themigration of young people and the role of the familyin this process. The significance of this phenomenonis related with the negative impacts ofMigration of young people to other countries, onthe all spheres of Cuban Society, including theeconomic and social development. The article isbased on the case study that tried to explain thelinks among the emigration of young persons andthe strategies designed and developed by their families-which live in the locality known as “ConsejoPopular Plaza” located in the municipality with thesame name. As a result of this research, the role ofthe family related to the migratory process, wereproved. Although only in few cases, the whole familytook part in the decision of migrating of theiryoung members, diverse familiar strategies havebeen developed after the migration act.
