La competitividad en las Instituciones de Educación Superior: aplicación de filosofías de gestión empresarial. Gestión del proceso de negocio/ Competitiveness in Higher Education Institutions: Application of Business Management Philosophy. Management of Business Process

SUMMARY

El entorno de la enseñanza superior y de la sociedad en general está sufriendo hasta hoy cambios de gran trascendencia, los rankingsinternacionales de calidad son  una  manifestación  del  nuevo  contexto  de  competitividad  de  las  universidades.  La  búsqueda  de  la excelencia organizativa tiene como base el desarrollo y la actualización de la gestión dentro de los procesos para alcanzar la eficiencia y la competitividad, al disminuir los costos. Aplicar ciclos de mejora continua y filosofías de gestión empresarial en pos de conseguir estos  fines,  una  vez  visualizada  la  educación  con  un enfoque de negocio, en la cual estudiantes, profesores, personal de administración y servicios sean concebidos como clientes, constituye el propósito de este artículo, que realiza un estudio de las propuestas de modelos de cadena de valor en la educación superior, así como del empleo de las filosofías de gestión LEAN SIX SIGMA y BPM, aplicadas en este ámbito.The  environment  of  Higher  Education  and  of  society  in general  is  going  through  very  important  changes  today. The international quality rankings are an expression of the new competitive context of the universities. The searching for organizational excellence has as its base the development and  updating  of  management  within  the  processes,  to  be more efficient and competitive while decreasing the costs. Using  cycles  of  continuous  improvement  and  business management philosophies in order to achieve these objectives, visualizing  education  with  a  business  approach  where students, professors and administrative and service personnel are visualized as clients is the purpose of this article where a  study  of  the  proposals  of  models  and  value  chains  in Higher Education is made, as well as the use of management philosophies  as  LEAN  SIX  SIGMA  and BPM applied in this domain.
