Research on Frequency Fuzzy Adaptive Additional Inertial Control Strategy for D-PMSG Wind Turbine

SUMMARY

The traditional additional inertial control (T-AIC) strategy can provide frequency support for the directly-driven wind turbine with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (D-PMSG). However, due to the fixed control coefficients, the frequency modulation effect is poor under load and wind speed disturbances. In order to improve the frequency transient response of D-PMSG, a fuzzy adaptive additional inertial control strategy (FA-AIC) is proposed in this paper. A simplified D-PMSG model is established for the complexity and low calculation speed. A single-machine grid-connected system composed of a D-PMSG and an equivalent synchronous generator set (ESGS) is taken as the background and analysis of the principle of T-AIC. The proportional and derivative coefficient initial values in T-AIC are tuned by simulating the static characteristics and inertial response characteristics of the conventional synchronous generator set, and fuzzy control technology is introduced to adjust the proportional and derivative coefficients adaptively based on the frequency deviation and the frequency deviation change rate under load or wind speed disturbances. The simulation verification indicates that T-AIC, kinetic energy (KE)-based gain-AIC and FA-AIC all can utilize the D-PMSG additional inertial response to provide frequency support for grid-connected systems. Compared with T-AIC and KE-based gain-AIC, the proposed FA-AIC can not only provide more effective frequency support during load disturbances, but also suppress the frequency fluctuation caused by the wind speed variation and displays a better dynamic frequency regulation effect.

ABSTRACT In our country general indicators to assess the effectiveness of Programs for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer keep high. Objectives: To evaluate the effects of the technical training for the continuous improvement of cytological diagnosis of the cervical cancer at "Abel Santamaria Cuadrado" University Hospital, during 2005-2007. Design: An intervention-action research was conducted in order to assess the effectiveness of the technical training process for improving quality in the diagnosis performed by the technicians of the specialty, measured through the correlation between the first diagnosis issued by technical personnel and a second one by the Pathologist, taken from a sample of 22864 cytologies. General concordance and the type of lesion were the variables used, applying descriptive statistics for categorical qualitative variables expressed in absolute frequencies and relative percentages. Frequency comparisons were verified by means of a chi square test, 95% of confidence and Kappa test for the correlation among observers. Results: An enhancement of concordance was found in 2007 in relation to the period of 2005-2006, highly significant (X2 = 75.0; gdl =1; p = 0.00000001). Concordance regarding the diagnosis increased, except in NIC-III. Conclusion: It was proved that technical training process influenced on the continuous improvement of the quality for cytological diagnosis. Key words: cancer/prevention, cytology, diagnosis.

ABSTRACT A retrospective and analytic research was carried out with the purpose of identifying risk factors associated with endometrial lesions in obese women older than 50 years old in Pinar del Rio municipality. The universe was comprised of the total of women living at "Hermanos Cruz" health sector. A group of obese women older than 50 years old and a control group of non-obese women older than 50 years old were chosen. To collect data, a survey-form was used; including general variables of women, personal, familial, gynecological and obstetric records. The survey was applied for both groups having a previous consent. A sonographic study was conducted to women participating in the research and performing an endometrial-histological examination when the Sonography showed abnormalities (greater 4mm in postmenopausal and 14mm in premenopausal women). A database using the variables studied was created; and the results were grouped in charts (simple and of contingency). In the statistical process absolute frequency and percentage, chi square, Fisher's probability test, odds ratio (raw and adjusted), and Z test were used. Obesity was associated with a major probability of having an abnormal sonographic result of the endometrial thickness, premalignant lesions and endometrial cancer; mainly when familial history of breast or colon cancers existed as well as personal records of early menarche, parity and abnormal uterine bleeding. Key words: Adenocarcinoma, Endometrial neoplasm, epidemiology, Endometrial hyperplasia, biopsy.
