SUMMARY
RÉSUMÉIntroduction. L’alvéolite est une ostéite circonscrite périphérique survenant 2-3 jours après une avulsion dentaire. Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Fusobacterium nucleatum sont parmi les bactéries incriminées. Cependant, l’antibiothérapie mal adaptée génère des multi-résistances. Ainsi, la recherche s’oriente vers l’exploitation des plantes médicinales. Le but de l’étude était d’évaluer l’activité antibactérienne in vitro de l’huile essentielle d’Azadirachta indica (Neem) sur les dites bactéries. Méthodologie. Il s’agissait d’une étude expérimentale menée à la FMSB de Yaoundé et au CSIR de Bruneton à Pretoria, durant 7 mois courant 2019. Le criblage chimique a été fait par CPG/SM. L’activité antibactérienne a été étudiée selon la méthode de diffusion des disques sur ce milieu gélosé et la technique de macro dilution. L’analyse statistique a été réalisée à partir du logiciel Graphpad Instat version 5.1. Résultats. Le criblage chimique de l’huile de Neem a ressorti les composés à l’origine de l’activité antibactérienne à l’instar d’acides gras dont l’Acide oléique (42,5%) et de plusieurs composés volatils dont le Lineoleoyl chloride (10,24 %) et le Méthyl petroselinate (10,23 %). Les souches bactériennes étaient sensibles avec des diamètres de 14,9 mm pour A. actinomycetemcomitans, 11,3mm P. gingivalis et 12,6 mm F. nucleatum. Les CMI et CMB étaient respectivement de 125 mg /ml et 500 mg /ml ; le rapport CMB /CMI était égal à 4. Conclusion. L’huile de Neem a une activité bactériostatique sur les germes Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, porphyromonas gingivalis et fusobacterium nucleatum; et constituerait une alternative pour la prise en charge de l’alvéolite.ABSTRACTIntroduction. Research is therefore focusing on the use of medicinal plants. The aim of the study was to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial activity of the essential oil of Azadirachta indica (Neem) on the said bacteria. Methodology. This was an experimental study conducted at the FMSB in Yaounde and the CSIR of Bruneton in Pretoria, during 7 months in 2019. Chemical screening was done by CPG/SM. The antibacterial activity was studied according to the method of disc diffusion on this agar medium and the macro dilution technique. The statistical analysis was carried out using Graphpad Instat version 5.1 software.Results. The chemical screening of Neem oil brought out the compounds at the origin of the antibacterial activity like fatty acids such as Oleic Acid (42.5%) and several volatile compounds such as Lineoleoyl chloride (10.24%) and Methyl petroselinate (10.23%). Bacterial strains were susceptible with diameters of 14.9 mm for A. actinomycetemcomitans, 11.3 mm P. gingivalis and 12.6 mm F. nucleatum. The MIC and MBC were 125 mg /ml and 500 mg /ml respectively; the MBC / MBC ratio was 4. Conclusion. In the end, Neem oil has bacteriostatic activity on the germs Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, porphyromonas gingivalis and fusobacterium nucleatum; and would be an alternative for the management of alveolitis.
