SUMMARY
Resumo: Este ensaio apresenta algumas reflexões iniciais a respeito doCinema, enfatizando-o como uma manifestação da cultura mundial, queganhou status de obra de arte – a Sétima Arte. O objetivo primordial foidestacar o caráter sócio-cultural e histórico do Cinema, o apresentado emuma perspectiva psicossocial. Para tanto, a metodologia utilizada foi apesquisa bibliográfica, com destaque para Adorno e Horkheimer (1985),Bergan (2009), Merten (2005), Morin (1989; 1990), e Zusman (1994). Nessesentido, foi discutida a transformação da arte em “indústria cultural”, arelação fã-ídolo e o valor do “cinema independente”. E, finalmente, foipossível considerar que o Cinema tem a possibilidade de projetar na tela e,consequentemente, no imaginário popular toda a construção social darealidade, objetiva e subjetiva, historicamente produzida por meio dasrelações intra e interpsíquicas, e, ainda, revelar aos olhos do espectadorinformações a respeito do percurso e experiência social da humanidade, bemcomo de sua existência pessoal e cotidiana, como sujeito histórico, que cria eé criado por sua cultura.Palavras-chave: Cinema. Indústria Cultural.Abstract: This paper presents some initial reflections on the Cinemaemphasizing it as a manifestation of world culture, which gained the statusof work of art – the Seventh Art. The primary objective was to highlight thesocial, cultural and historical character of the Cinema, presenting it in apsychosocial perspective. For this, the methodology used was literature,specially Adorno and Horkheimer (1985), Bergan (2009), Merten (2005),Morin (1989, 1990), and Zusman (1994). In this sense, it was discussed thetransformation of Art into “culture industry”, the relationship between fanidoland the value of “independent cinema”. And, finally, it was possible toconsider that Cinema shows on the screen and, consequently, in the‘collective self’ the social construction of reality; produced objective,subjective and historically by means of intra and interpsychic. The Cinemacan also reveal to the spectator's eyes information about manhood’spathways and social experience, as well as their own personal and everydayexistence, as a historical ‘self’, who creates and is created by his/her ownculture.Keywords: Cinema.
