SUMMARY
A study on sanitation of catering has been conducted in 97 caterings in Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to provide information about the sanitation condition of catering. The results showed that 56.7% had good sanitation, 32.2% moderate, and 4.1% poor sanitation. Furthermore of the 30 water samples, 20% did not meet the MOH's bacteriological standards. In addition 6.7% of the 30 food samples were contaminated to E. coli and 66.7% indicated bacterial plate count 2 x 105 - 46 x 106 per gram. However there was a relationship between the education level of manager catering with sanitation status of catering (p).
