SUMMARY
Erratic climate change demands the attitude of people in coastal areas to have the knowledge and skills shown by active and participatory attitudes in dealing with the situation and conditions that will be experienced. These capabilities can be done through the indigenous learning process where learning is done in accordance with local design. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach that aims to find and recognize the existence of indigenous learning owned by coastal communities in climate change adaptation in Payangan Beach Jember Regency. Data collection techniques using interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The result of this study is that people apply their indigenous learning in the face of climate change by adapting to events caused by climate change in coastal communities in Payangan Beach. The results of the research show that coastal communities are able to manage real experience, then reflect it to become a conception of new knowledge in adapting to climate change, which is manifested in vegetation and waste management.
