EFECTOS DE UN PROGRAMA DE ENTRENAMIENTO EN HABILIDADES SOCIALES PARA EL RECHAZO AL CONSUMO DE DROGAS EN ADOLESCENTES ESCOLARES EN SITUACIÓN DE RIESGO

SUMMARY

The research aims to determine how the program created by Goldstein, Reagles & Amann (1990) on social skills training for drug rejection affects a group of school adolescents enrolled in a private educational institution in the Lurin district. The design chosen is the quasi-experimental one with pre-test and post-test, with control group. The selection of the participants was intentional, constituting the experimental group 34 students and the control group 34 students of the fourth and fifth grade of secondary education, both sexes and whose ages ranged between 15 and 17 years. The social rejection skills were measured through the Drug Consumption Rejection Social Skills Checklist, similarly, to the authors of the training program that was applied in this study. The program was reviewed and applied for 10 consecutive weeks. The results showed that there are statistically significant differences (p <.05), very significant (p<.01) and highly significant (p <.001) in the average scores of social rejection skills towards drugs and of each of its components in the experimental group after applying the training program. Finally, the report of the effect size for the results varied between the medium to strong categories.
