Anti-Forensics With Steganographic File Embedding in Digital Image Using Genetic Algorithm

SUMMARY

Information technology is insepareable from humans activity nowadays ( I.e., work, study, trade, to communicating using information technology). Digital image is an asset that cannot be separated from human communication when utilizing information technology. Cyber security is an important aspect that must be considered when utilizing information technology. Steganography is an art and science of hiding message securely, where a secret message is embedded in common digital media. Steganography itself is one of the anti-forensic techniques, the main purpose of which is to hide secret messages to make it difficult for digital forensic investigations to be carried out. The digital forensics process has been greatly helped by the development of artificial intelligence. However, the digital forensics process is often complicated by the development of anti-forensic techniques that utilize artificial intelligence as well.In this study, a steganography method on digital images as anti-forensics by utilizing genetic algorithms was purposed. Genetic Algorithm which are artificial intelligence whose functions are optimization and search. Genetic algorithm will be combined with cryptography visually hilbert curve, data compression of lempel ziv markov chain, and least significant bit for embedding. The proposed method will be tested using a statistical steganalysis technique which is one of the digital forensic methods.The purpose of this research is to obtain a method that can make a process of making an examination of digital evidence, in this case a digital image, difficult or even impossible to do using steganography techniques. It also illustrates the extent to which steganography as an anti-forensic technique can develop by utilizing artificial intelligence. As the conclusion, proposed method got better performance rather than the previous method.
