Tarih Dersindeki Kavramlarin Algilanma Düzeylerine Iliskin Bir Degerlendirme / An Overview to High School Students’ Perceptions about Concepts of History Lesson

SUMMARY

Abstract The aim of this work is to determine the high school students’ perceptions about concepts of History lesson and to offer precautions to be taken to increase students’ perception levels. The empirical data gathered from tenth grade students of different high school types of Zonguldak province. Two different tests, the concept success test and the concept matching test, which was prepared for the research applied to 767 students. The empirical data analyzed with SPSS statistical software. Frequency and percent statistics were used to determine the descriptive qualities of the students, average and standard deviation statistics were used to determine the students' concept success points, T-test one way Anova test and Chi-square test were used to investigate the level of concept matching and concept success test according to students' descriptive qualities . At the end of the work, the results of the research are displayed. The level of students' concept success and concept matching was very low and there was a significant differentiation at the success levels among high school types. The success level of vocational high school was quite low considering with the general high schools. In addition to this, there was a significant differentiation at the level of student’s concept success and concept matching according to student’s genders and settlements.Özet Bu çalisma, ortaögretim ögrencilerinin tarih dersinde yer alan kavramlari algilama düzeylerini ölçerek algi düzeylerinin artirilmasina yönelik çözüm önerileri sunmak amaciyla hazirlanmistir. Arastirmada örneklem olarak ortaögretim 10. Sinif ögrencileri seçilmistir. Amaç dogrultusunda olusturulan kavram basari testi ile kavram eslestirme testi 2011-2012 Egitim-Ögretim yilinda Zonguldak ilinde farkli lise türlerinde egitim gören 767 ögrenciye uygulanmistir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programi kullanilarak analiz edilmistir. Ögrencilerin tanimlayici özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde frekans ve yüzde istatistiklerinden; kavram basari puani ve kavram eslestirme testlerinden aldiklari puanlarin belirlenmesinde ortalama ve standart sapma istatistiklerinden; kavram basari ve kavram eslestirme düzeylerinin incelenmesinde ise T testi, tek yönlü Anaova ve Ki-kare analizlerinden yararlanilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda; ögrencilerin kavram basari ve kavram eslestirme düzeylerinin oldukça düsük oldugu, lise türlerine göre basari düzeylerinde anlamli farklilasmalar oldugu, özellikle meslek liselerindeki basari oraninin genel liselere göre oldukça düsük düzeyde oldugu belirlenmistir. Arastirmada ayrica ögrencilerin kavram basari ve kavram eslestirme düzeylerinde cinsiyetlerine ve yerlesim yerlerine göre de farklilasmalar tespit edilmistir.Un aperçu de la perception des élèves d’écoles secondaires sur les concepts du cours d’histoire Résumé Le but de ce travail est de déterminer la perception des concepts véhiculés au cours d’histoire et d'offrir des pistes au sujet des précautions à prendre pour augmenter le niveau de perception des étudiants de l’enseignement secondaire. Les données empiriques sont recueillies auprès des étudiants de deuxième année du secondaire supérieur. Le test préparé sur le sujet est mis en pratique pendant l’année scolaire de 2011-2012 dans différentes écoles secondaires de la ville de Zonguldak. Nous avons appliqué deux tests aux élèves concernés le nombre d’élèves est de 767 : les tests portent sur les concept de succès et le concept de rattachement. Les données empiriques obtenues par les deux tests sont analysées avec le logiciel statistique SPSS. Nous avons utilisé les statistiques de fréquence et de pourcentage pour déterminer les qualités descriptives des élèves ; les statistiques de la moyenne et de l’écart type pour déterminer le point de réussite du concept et les points obtenus des tests de la critique du concept ; le test T, le teste d’Anova et chi carré pour étudier les niveaux de réussite et d’appariement du concept. Notre recherche montre clairement que le niveau de réussite de la critique du concept des élèves sont très faible, qu’il y a une différenciation significative des niveaux de réussite entre les différents types d'études secondaires. La moyenne de réussite dans les écoles de l’enseignement professionnel est particulièrement plus basse par rapport aux écoles de l’enseignement général. En outre, il existe une différence significative au niveau de la réussite et de la critique du concept des élèves selon le sexe et le lieu d’habitation.
