SUMMARY
This work shows the development and implementation of a software tool in order to predict the signal electromagnetic propagation in third generation mobile communication systems through the usage of three propagation models: (Okumura-Hata, Cost Walfish-Ikegami and 3GPP) which are employed in coverage planning of 3G systems. The information obtained is compared with experimental measurements, which were collected from different urban areas. This comparison among the propagation models was made based on error analysis corresponding to each scenario. Finally, the outcomes obtained through the software tool for each model is shown in estimation coverage maps by GIS (Geographic Information System).
