SUMMARY
En el presente trabajo se estudia el comportamiento de la competitividad que ha mostrado México, en cuanto a sus exportaciones de chile seco durante el periodo de 1993 a 2009, mediante la obtención del índice de ventaja relativa de exportaciones y aplicando el método de análisis de participación constante de mercado, los resultados que se obtuvieron presentan que las exportaciones de chile seco de México han crecido fuertemente, con una tendencia de crecimiento muy variable. Por otro lado, los índices de competitividad están en un rango aceptables pero que podrían mejorarse, ya que actualmente está en el lugar 14 como país exportador, siendo que en 1993, 1995 y 1998, llegó a estar en sexto lugar, se aporta información para un posible cambio en las políticas públicas para el apoyo a este sector, así como un marco referencial.AbstractIn this paper we study the behavior of the competitiveness that Mexico has shown, in their dried chilli exports during the period 1993-2009, by obtaining the relative strength index of exports and applying the method of analysis constant market share, the results obtained show that exports of dried chile in Mexico have grown strongly, with a highly variable growth trend, moreover competitiveness indices are in an acceptable range, but that could be improved, and which is currently ranked 14th in the exporting country, considering that in 1993, 1995 and 1998 came to be in sixth place, it provides information for a possible change in public policy to support this sector and a framework.
