SUMMARY
This article discusses the impact of chemical discharges from desalination plants on the marine environment. Analyzes were carried out on samples taken from the brine discharges from 4 major desalination plants in Algeria. The results obtained show that the brine contains chemical elements with very high concentrations. Principal component analysis was the subject of this study. It made it possible to define the most important elements characterizing the discharges of the various stations. A map of the quantitative distribution of the discharges of the various chemical elements considered as preponderant on the Algerian littoral was established.
