SUMMARY
Resumo: Orientado pela Teoria da Iconicidade Verbal (SIMÕES), esteartigo intenta abordar a coerência textual, a partir de uma análise dasestratégias lexicais utilizadas por José J. Veiga na construção de umanarrativa com características do Realismo Maravilhoso (CHIAMPI). Paratanto, será discutida a construção de: (1) os elementos mágicos oufantásticos percebidos como parte da "normalidade" pelos personagens deforma intuitiva e sem explicação; (2) a presença do sensorial como parte dapercepção da realidade; (3) a transformação do comum e do cotidiano emuma vivência com experiências sobrenaturais ou extraordinárias; (4) apreocupação estilística com uma visão estética não exclui a experiênciaempírica e mítica. A investigação da semiose em Sombras de Reis Barbudosbusca o entendimento da obra a partir do rastreamento dos processoscognitivos acionados pela iconicidade do léxico na constituição de umacoerência emoldurada pelo Realismo Maravilhoso.Palavras-Chave: escolha lexical. Insólito.Realismo Maravilhoso.Abstract: Based on the Theory of Verbal Iconicity (SIMÕES, ano), thisarticle proposes dealing with the textual coherence by means of an analysisof the lexical strategies used by (VEIGA, ANO) in the construction of anarrative with the characteristics of the Marvellous Realism (CHIAMPI). Inorder to do that, it will be discussed here the construction of : (1) thefantastic or magic elements perceived as part of the “normality” by thecharacters in an intuitive and unexplained form; (2) the presence of thesensorial as part of the perception of the reality; (3) the transformation of thecommon and daily elements in a life of supernatural and extraordinaryexperiences; (4) the stylistical worries with an aesthetic view which does notexclude the empirical and mythical experience. The investigation of thesemiosis in Sombras de Reis Barbudos is aimed at the understanding of theliterary work from the tracking of the cognitive processes activated by thelexical iconicity in the constitution of a textual coherence involved by theMarvellous Realism.Keywords: lexical choice.
